I. HAZARDOUS MATERIALS CATEGORIES ALLOWED:
> Toxic gases (gases and liquids): Class 2.1/2.3, class 6.1.
> Low explosive Haz Mat, non-flammable gas, Various Haz Mat: Class 1.4, Class 2.2, Class 9.
> Oxidizing products and peroxides: Class 5.1 and 5.2.
II. FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT:
> Rail and road services
- 2 tracks of 375 m long.
- 1 one-way traffic lane for trucks.
- The 2 railway tracks & the road lane are operated by a gantry crane moving on rails
> Gantry crane with piggyback legs for handling swap bodies
- 41 tons lifting capacity.
- Travel speed: 100 m / min longitudinally and 1000 m / min laterally
- Lifting speed allowing 15 cycles / hour on 2 daily posts: 210 cycles / day.
> Storage cell from 36 to 54 TEU accepting ISO Tanks and dry containers 20, 23, 30, 40 feet.
> Only HazMat containers can be stored inside the HazMat container storage facility (no swap bodies)
III. SAFETY DEVICES:
> No ignition sources in the storage area.
> Independent cells accepting only complementary classes, separated by firewalls.
> Storage of flammable gases, flammable and toxic gases and non-flammable toxic products in separate cells, confined by a movable flap except during handling operations, under permanent control of their atmosphere
> Two empty containers per cell for the automatic recovery of rainwater and any effluents resulting from leaks
> Control system measuring the explosive limits, toxicity and temperature level depending the cells
> Every cell has a fire detection device directly connected to the control room; depending on HazMat stored, the extinction is realized by high-expansion foam or deluge system and activation of water curtains in order to contain any vapors and fumes.
